If you plan to visit Greece, I highly recommend booking a wine tour, especially if you find yourself in Santorini. It is considered a must-do activity in Greece.

Greece is well-known for its exceptional Vinsanto wines, particularly those from Santorini. These wines are crafted from late-harvested, sun-dried white grapes and matured for a minimum of two years in oak barrels. They boast complex flavors reminiscent of rum, sultanas, plums, and menthol.

The distinct taste of wine produced on this island has been esteemed for centuries. The volcanic soils of Santorini comprise basalt, granite, pumice, obsidian, and ash. These soils are characterized by high levels of silica oxides and metals that result in acidity and contribute to the wines’ pleasant mineral notes.
