Lefkada, with its traditional villages, kilometers of stunning sandy beaches, majestic vertical rocky cliffs, and the most beautiful exotic waters, is an absolute paradise. The island boasts more than 30 spectacular beaches, each worth discovering.

Beaches in Lefkada don’t come “one size fits all.” They are what the island is best known for and are scattered across it. There are beaches suited to paragliding, scuba diving, snorkeling, and sunbathing. Whether family-friendly or reveler-ready, Lefkada has it covered within its conveniently compact size. Below, I will list the top 10 beaches, starting with the most popular, which are usually crowded during peak season, and then moving on to the quieter but equally iconic beaches on the Ionian Jewel island.

1. Porto Katsiki is undoubtedly the jewel of the island. You will feel as if you’ve arrived in paradise and will be captivated by the breathtaking cliff scenery. It is the most popular beach on the island, with crystal-clear blue waters and a fine pebbled shore.

2. Egremni Beach, adjacent to Porto Katsiki, competes for the title of the most beautiful beach. With its long sandy shores surrounded by impressive barren cliffs, this beach is not to be missed.

3. Kathisma Beach is my favorite. It’s a tranquil, secluded destination that you should definitely visit. The beach, with its Caribbean-colored waters, is cosmopolitan and fully organized, offering sunbeds, beach bars, and water sports amenities.

4. Agiofilli Beach is located in a small picturesque bay on the southern part of the island, near Vasiliki. Previously, this beach could only be reached by boat, however, it is now accessible on foot as well. Keep in mind that there is a 20-25 minute difficult path to descend. Boats depart from Vasiliki several times a day, and it’s worth discovering this hidden gem.

5. Agios Nikitas Beach, located on Lefkada’s north coast, is nestled within a village-resort famed for hosting one of the island’s most beautiful beaches. Trendy bars, restaurants, shops, and water sports amenities are available here. It’s an ideal tiny beach for families with golden sand and Lefkadian turquoise waters.

6. Mikros Gialos is often a favorite swimming spot for those who know Lefkada well. It is fully organized with umbrellas, sunbeds, water sports amenities, and restaurants serving the freshest seafood.

7. Afteli Beach is ideal for those looking to avoid crowds, attracting more locals than tourists. This tiny and charming beach is surrounded by vegetation and offers organized amenities such as sunbeds, umbrellas, and a beach bar.

8. Vasiliki Beach proudly ranks among the most popular beaches in the south. Encircled by green mountains, it is renowned for its crystal-clear water and stands out for providing all the amenities a visitor could need. It’s especially popular for water sports activities.

9. Kalamitsi comprises an 8km stretch of interconnected beaches. Kalamitsi, connected with Avali, Kavalikefta, and Megali Petra beaches, is the largest. Some areas are equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, while others remain free for visitors to relax on the beautiful golden sand.

10. Milos Beach offers a legendary atmosphere along its coast, guaranteeing an unforgettable experience. It’s magical how nature blends the golden sands with the stunning crystal blue sea. Enjoy your coffee and unwind.
