The perfect season to visit the island can be quite subjective. The island serves as a seasonal tourist hotspot, mainly from May through September. Yet, it retains its vibrancy in the winter, setting it apart from many other islands.

My personal preference is always the low season, as I find it important to avoid the masses of tourists during the peak months.

For those who want to party and enjoy a lively nightlife, I would definitely recommend visiting during peak season. If you want to spend most of your time swimming in warm waters, sunbathing, and relaxing at the beach, the ideal time to visit is from the end of May to the end of September when the temperatures are perfect. Naturally, in July and August, the seawater is warmer, but these months also tend to be more crowded.

For weather that’s conducive to sightseeing and avoiding large crowds, June or September are typically the best choices. It’s worth noting that temperatures from mid-July to the end of August can be quite high, often to the point of discomfort, even for locals in Greece.
