At the top of the Venetian Castle (or Kastro) of Plaka stands the Church of the Holy Mother (Panagia) Thalassitra.

Further up, there is the chapel of Mesa Panagia or Panagia Sikiniotissa, which dominates the most elevated part with a view that is indescribable. There is also another noteworthy 19th century church in Plaka worth visiting. Panagia Korfiatissa was built around 1820 and overlooks the blue of the Aegean Sea

It is located on the western edge of Plaka, and is accessible by car.
