Santorini has indeed earned its place on your “must-do” list as the location for an iconic sunset experience!

Indeed, the view is breathtaking, and Oia offers one of the finest sunset experiences. However, the crowds can be overwhelmingly insane!

Whether viewed shoulder-to-shoulder at the Oia Castle, from the infinity pool of your bougie hotel, or from the deck of your romantic sunset cruise, Santorini’s sunset is world-famous for a reason: it’s pretty bloody spectacular.

Oia Castle may be the most popular, yet it isn’t my preferred choice…

Here are my two favorite spots:

1) Observe the sunset from Imerovigli, where the crowds are not dense, yet the caldera’s sunset contrast is still breathtaking, or

2) Experience the sunset from “The Heart of Santorini,” a less frequented location brimming with romance.

3) Around the blue dome churches in Oia, there are many lovely public laneways around these two famous churches, that make for great vantage points as the sun sets into the ocean.

Kamari is a popular resort town on Santorini’s east coast with a volcanic black sand beach and spectacular scenery. The resort boasts a spacious pedestrian promenade and luxurious hotels, lending it an upscale, refined ambiance, while the beach nestles under the majestic Mesa Vouno mountain. It’s highly regarded and justifiably so! The location is pristine, bathed in sunshine, and offers an extensive array of watersports, ranging from jet skiing to paddleboarding.
