The island is divided into two parts: one for those who want the beach view and one for those who want the caldera view.

Unfortunately, you cannot have both, and the same applies to the sunset and sunrise views.

During the summer season, sunset occurs around 20:30 – 21:30 and is clearly visible only from Akrotiri lighthouse, Oia, Imerovigli, or Fira (the caldera side). Sunrise occurs around 06:00 – 07:00 and is best viewed from Kamari and Perissa (the beach side).

Sunset spots during the summer are irritatingly overcrowded but always provide a pleasant experience when combined with the caldera view. If you are brave enough to wake up for the sunrise, it is worth the effort, as you will enjoy the most beautiful moment of the day with the sound of the waves hitting your feet.
