Little Venice, known for its romantic and picturesque setting, is a beloved spot in Mykonos. Originally called Alefkandra, it adopted the name Little Venice because local authorities felt it mirrored the charm of the Italian city of Venice.

Mykonos, with its clear Venetian influences, remained under the rule of Venice from the 14th to the 18th century.

Little Venice captivates with its vibrant houses, boasting balconies that overhang the sea—formerly the abodes of sea captains and affluent merchants.

Besides the gorgeous sunset views, this quaint neighborhood also offers a plethora of entertainment options, from cafes and bistros to bars, tavernas, and restaurants. It should also be noted that, during the 1950s and 1960s, Little Venice used to host a school where fishing was part of the curriculum!
