My first time in Rethymno was in 2003. I was extremely surprised and impressed back then and still am every time I travel there to be honest! Since then, I have lost count of how many times I have been there.

In my opinion, Rethymno is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Greece and one of the most beautiful towns in Crete.

Strolling through the Venetian fortress, one can savor the breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. Just a short distance away lies the quaint harbor of Rethymno, where local fishermen dock their vessels. This area, dotted with numerous restaurants and the renowned Egyptian lighthouse, offers a picturesque setting.

Very close to the Venetian Harbour you can find the 16th-century square building of the Venetian Loggia. It used to be the place where Venetian officials and nobility used to meet to discuss important matters.
