Milos Best Beaches

Milos has some spectacular beaches for everyone: relaxing, organized, and non-organized, sandy and rocky beaches with stunning cliffs and sapphire waters, creating a picturesque scenery. Beaches with dramatic landscapes offer activities for families and even for adventurers seeking adrenaline, including a Moon-like beach from outer space. But which ones are the best? Below is my Top 10 list:

10. Thiorichia Beach

Thiorichia Beach, also referred to as the Beach of the Abandoned Sulfur Mine, is a captivating small rocky beach situated before the deserted mines. This secluded beach is accessible by boat or a four-wheel drive vehicle.

9. Alogomandra Beach

Alogomandra beach is an unspoiled sandy paradise nestled in a small bay. It is one of the most secluded beaches of Milos, featuring crystal clear waters and a small cove that offers shade. Please do not expect beach bars or any amenities here.

8. Agia Kyriaki Beach

Agia Kyriaki beach is also known as one of the most popular beaches on the island. Peaceful and quiet, with a pebbly shore and emerald green clear waters, it is ideal for families. There is a beach bar and offers sunbeds for rent.

7. Paliochori Beach

Paliochori beach is situated in one of the most beautiful coastal areas of Milos and is considered the most popular beach. The water is shallow and crystal clear, adorned with unique multicolored pebbles. This beach is ideal for families with children, offering sun loungers for rent and various water sports activities. The frequent buses ensure perfect accessibility.

6. Plathiena beach

Plathiena beach, located on the island`s northern part, is one of the best beaches in Milos and one of my personal favorite due to its location, a picturesque cove-like shape surrounded by rocks with amazing golden sand and crystal clear waters. The area is organized with beach bars and restaurants.

5. Tsigrado Beach

Tsigrado beach is a small beach, situated on the southern coast of the island. This is the most adventurous beach on the list since you have to abseil two ladders and a rope. Though small, it can be a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the day. Tsigrado has a heart of sand with rocks at each end.

4. Fyriplaka beach

Fyriplaka beach, showcases amazing turquoise waters and a snow grey soft sand, surrounded by high cliffs that create an incredible landscape. Firiplaka provides all the amenities one could wish for a perfect seaside afternoon: plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, a small bar for refreshments, making it a favored beach among families.

3. Papafragas Beach

Papafragas beach is, without a doubt, one of the prettiest beaches on the Island. With its small sandy beach nestled between towering cliffs and caves, it presents visitors with a breathtaking natural landscape.

2. Kleftiko Beach

Kleftiko, technically not a beach but rather a bay, is regarded as one of the island’s top destinations for a day boat trip, offering exceptional swimming experiences that should not be missed.

1. Sarakiniko Beach

Sarakiniko beach is almost like God never intended to create a beach there, but he did it anyway, and it was a delightful surprise. Famous for its moonlike landscape, it is among the most unique and beautiful beaches you will find in Greece and definitely the best on the island.
