Loutro: The hidden paradise without an accessible road.

Ever since I first saw a photo of Loutro I promised myself that I would visit this place as soon as possible!

Finally, a few years ago I made it there with my brother and I did not regret it!

Nevertheless, Crete remains a destination that never fails to satisfy.

To reach Loutro, there are only two options: hiking or taking a brief boat trip from Chora Sfakion, which lasts about 25 minutes. If you opt to hike, expect it to take approximately 2-3 hours. I ultimately decided on the hike, which begins at the chapel of Saint Catherine, situated atop the hill in Anopolis village.

The panoramic views of Loutro and its crescent-shaped harbor from above are stunning, but the decision is ultimately yours.

Loutro is ideal for calm holidays away from the crowds, where you can sit on the beach and read a book. If you love hiking there are plenty of hike trails in the area. For water activities you can hire a Kayak or simply take a boat tour to explore and swim in some hidden coves.

The waters of Loutro are likely to be the clearest you have ever encountered.
