Kythira island – The Birthplace of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love.

In ancient Greek mythology, Kythira, also known as Kithira, was revered as the island of the heavenly Aphrodite, the goddess of love, akin to Cyprus, which was another island dedicated to her. It is believed that she emerged from the sea foam close to the island.

Kythira is a place endowed with great beauty: valleys that meet the seashore, mountainsides covered in greenery, or rugged and barren springs, stunning beaches, beautiful charming tiny villages, delicious local cuisine and architecture that combines Venetian influences with styles found in Crete and Mani (south Peloponnese).

The preceding summary provides a glimpse of what awaits you at the picturesque and unmissable destination of Kythira Island.
