Mountain Voras, also known as Kaimaktsalan, is celebrated as a premier ski resort in Greece and a paradise for winter sports lovers.

Situated approximately an hour’s drive from Thessaloniki, it hosts one of the most frequented ski resorts in Greece.
Beginning at an elevation of 2,050 meters for novices and culminating at 2,470 meters, the ski resort caters to all skiing preferences with nine runs ranging from beginner to advanced, and six lifts. At the mountain’s summit stands the stunning chapel of Prophet Elias.
Beyond skiing, the area is a true gem for nature lovers with thick forests, amazing trails for hikers and beautiful waterfalls to discover.
The region remains vibrant throughout the year, offering a plethora of activities including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, archery, and more.
Make sure to visit the quaint village of Old Agios Athanasios, perched at an altitude of 1,200 meters at the base of Kaimaktsalan, known for its enchanting stone houses that have been beautifully restored.
If you’re visiting the area, consider a trip to Vegoritida Lake, which is part of the NATURA 2000 network and boasts significant wildlife, including over 160 bird species and 11 fish species.
