The “Island of Calypso”, officially known as Gavdos island, is located just a few kilometers south of Crete and is the southernmost island of Europe.

This tiny island in southern Crete, is one of the region’s best kept secrets and is an ideal destination for holidays surrounded by a uniquely beautiful landscape.

The island offers numerous reasons to be considered a must-visit destination, especially when exploring the southern part of Crete.

The island is surprisingly green, with almost 65% covered in low-lying pine and cedar trees and vegetation.

Despite its small size, Gavdos can be easily explored in just a few days. The island boasts unique beaches and a rugged landscape featuring coves and rocky bays shaped by the sea and wind.

One of Gavdos’ most renowned landmarks is the natural arch called Tripiti, situated in a secluded area of the island on the eastern coast.
