Euboea or Evia is the second-largest of the Greek Islands.

Indeed, there is a debate among some people regarding whether Evia is an island; however, for many others, it is considered one.

Assuming the same logic, we could consider the Peloponnese as an island; however, the appropriate term for Evia might actually be “peninsula,” but that’s a conversation for another time.

Let’s focus on the fact that Evia is enchanting, boasting some truly jewel-like beaches. It is one of the rare Greek islands accessible by foot or car without the need for a ferry, situated just an hour’s drive from Athens.

The area remains unspoiled by throngs of tourists, and its impressive mountains attract those who enjoy hiking and wildlife observation.

Evia is excellent for hiking, trekking, and cycling since there are many small villages and interesting places worth visiting. Indeed, there are also some beautiful beaches to enjoy.
