Diaporos island – North Greece’s secret island paradise

Having been born and raised in North Greece, with Alexandroupoli as my hometown, I can share a little secret for those eager to set foot in some unexplored places.

Welcome to the deep blue paradise of Northern Greece! Located in Vourvourou, Chalkidiki, Diaporos island is definitely one of the most blue places you will ever visit.

Less renowned for its natural beauty and the stunningly clear blue waters is the location where you could film your own short “Blue Lagoon” movie.

Indeed, the island is home to some of the most spectacular beaches in Greece and a rich and diverse marine ecosystem, which offers plenty of opportunities for snorkeling, scuba diving, and more.

The Island has a rich and fascinating history that dates back to ancient times. It is believed that the island was inhabited as far back as the 7th century BC. The ancient Greeks used it as a place to store grain, as well as a hideout from pirates.

Diaporos Island is a true gem in the heart of Chalkidiki, Greece. Its rich history, breathtaking natural beauty, and fascinating marine life make it a must-visit destination for anyone who loves the sea and its creatures.
