The Corfiot Carnival, celebrated annually from mid-February to early March, is regarded as a unique event even among Greeks, owing to its distinctly strong Venetian influence.

Adorned with fancy dresses, costumes, and a wide array of masks, Corfu town undergoes a transformation into a theatrical spectacle, echoing the grandeur of Venice in its celebratory mood.

Throughout the Corfu Carnival, a multitude of events unfold, filled with music, dance, parties, and traditional activities like the Corfiot “Petegoletsas,” the “Kratodikeio,” the Venetian “perantzada,” the “Gaitanaki,” and the treasure hunt.
