Corfu Island has some spectacular beaches for everyone: relaxing, organized and non-organized, sandy and rocky beaches with some amazing sapphire waters, picturesque beaches with dramatic landscapes, activities for families, and even a double beach in the same spot to choose from.

I would advise bringing water shoes as many beaches are home to sea urchins.

But what’s the best one? I will break down some of my favorites below.

10. Agios Gordios Beach, is a beautiful with a unique view to Ornolithi rock. The iconic part of Agios Gordios is the surrounding mountain covered in thick forests. The beach is fully organized, ideal for families, with plenty of bars, restaurants and watersport activities.

9. Avlaki Beach, is an unspoiled sandy paradise situated in a large bay. Please do not expect beach bars or any amenities here.

8. Issos & Halikounas Beaches is a sandbar with two wild beaches. Issos beach is backed by a wild forest and Halikounas beach is an organized beach with facilities. Both are well known for the windsurfing and Kitesurfing activities.

7. Nissaki Beach is situated in one of the most beautiful coastal areas of Corfu. The water is shallow, crystal clear, and it is perfect for families with children.

6. Bataria Beach in Kassiopi is one of the best beaches in Corfu with crystal clear waters and is my personal favorite due to its picturesque cove-like shape. The area is organized with beach bars and restaurants.

5. Porto Timoni Beach. This double beach may be the island’s most popular, yet it presents a challenging hike for those who opt to walk. However, there are taxi boats available from Agios Georgios for an easier journey. Despite its small size, it offers a delightful spot for relaxation and enjoying the day.

4. La Grotta Beach. This place is not a beach, but a cove, and it’s popular and crowded because of its idyllic scenery and photogenic spots. With a fantastic bar at the top and a diving board on the rocks, this day will certainly be memorable.

3. Sidari Beach is one of the most famous beaches on Corfu island. This sandy/rocky paradise is located on the northwestern coast and it is usually crowded, unless you choose to visit early morning.

2. Rovinia Beach is my second choice, straying from the commonly recommended paths, yet it remains one of my favorite beaches. The journey there is somewhat challenging due to a brief hike, but the paradisiacal scenery that awaits is well worth the effort.

1. Paleokastritsa Beach is undoubtedly the jewel of Corfu’s beaches. With its verdant, picturesque hillsides and a bay that blends sandy shores with pebbly coves, it’s a choice you won’t regret.
