Benitses, a village located just a few kilometers away from the bustling Corfu capital, is considered the perfect base on the island if you want to avoid the crowds and immerse yourself in the traditional Greek lifeestyle.
A beachfront village with fine gravelly pebble beaches, traditional houses, picturesque alleyways to wander through and a plethora of restaurants to choose from.
The village was one of the first areas to experience a touristic boom during the 70’s and 80’s, attracting celebrities like the Beatles, Laurence Olivier, Doris Day and many more stars. This surge in popularity led to a significant influx of tourists flocking to Benitses, eager to party hard, which overwhelmed the small fishing village.
Nowadays Benitses has cultivated a peaceful atmosphere, attracting mainly families and couples.
It is considered an ideal destination for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts with many trails starting directly from the village.
