Are you visiting Greece?
Here’s a little secret for those passing through Athens: It’s called Anafiotika!
Whether by plane, boat, or car, travel often includes a stopover in Athens. When traveling through Athens, keep in mind that spending 2-3 days in the capital city of Greece is essential. The city is brimming with must-see attractions. Among them is the quaint and lesser-known Anafiotika area.
The history of this charming neighborhood of Athens goes back to the mid-1800s and is one of the oldest areas of the Capital.
This little neighbourhood is situated directly under the Acropolis and over the Plaka area.
The sensation is akin to that of an island, with tranquility and numerous whitewashed streets. To get lost among the winding streets of Anafiotika is a genuine delight.
Believe me when I say that this small neighborhood is a hidden gem, undiscovered by most tourists. Anafiotika is the perfect place to wander around, sit at a cafe, and just enjoy.
